“BP, Obama, the Environment, and All That Other Stuff You’re Already Sick of Talking About”-Patrol

hayward

I have my newest article up on Patrol Magazine.  It is joining in on a discussion happening between a couple of the writers at the magazine concerning ways to approach this oil crisis.  My opinion?  Stop trying to destroy BP.  Why?  Read on to find out.  And please, give comments; I’d love to know what you all think.  Here it is:

“BP, Obama, the Environment, and All That Other Stuff You’re Already Sick of Talking About”–Patrol Magazine

Sorry for the lack of posts here lately.  Still don’t have internet at my house.  I’m hoping that will change this week.  I have several posts I’ve been thinking through and am writing, so we’ll see if any of them actually gets put up this week.  One thing I’m definitely excited for: I think I’ll do a blog series on the Environment.  I’ve never really been much of a tree-hugger myself, but after having read the amazing book Perspectives on an Evolving Creation, I’ve received fresh eyes with which to see this world around us.  So, we’ll see.  Check here over the next couple of weeks.

  1. I appreciate what Obama is doing, and while he is saying big things, I’m not sure he actually has that much authority in this event. He has also organized and brought down significant intellectual individuals to aid in the cleanup and plugging of the oil. It’s hard to know exactly what is going on there but I don’t attribute a lot to him.

As far as BP, check out this video Paul. I think it exemplifies BP’s stance and motives from day one. Not only were they deceitful in proposing 1,000 barrels a day (latest official estimate is 70,000 a day), but they actively worked to prevent any information from spreading about the oil and also refused to allow many offering companies to come in to help. There’s a reason Tony Hayward was removed from running the BP oil show, and it is because of that deceit and dishonesty.
