Almighty Father, who gave your only Son to die for our sins and to rise for our justiﬁcation: Give us grace so to put away the leaven of malice and wickedness, that we may always serve you in pureness of living and truth; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

I love the Eternal; for not only does He hear
my voice, my pleas for mercy,
But He leaned down when I was in trouble and broughtHis ear close to me.
So as long as I have breath, I will call on Him.
Once I was wound in the wrappings of death;
the terror of dying and the grave had a grip on me;
I could not get away, for I was entombed in distress and sorrow.
Then I called on the name of the Eternal:
“O Eternal One—I am begging You—save me!”
The Eternal is full of grace and naturally just;
our God is compassionate and merciful.
And the Eternal watches over the naive.
Whenever I was knocked down, He reached down andsaved me.
O my soul! Return and relax. Come to your true rest,
for the Eternal has showered you with His favor.
God, You alone rescued my soul from the grips of death,
my eyes from weeping,
and my feet from slipping.
I will come before the Eternal
as long as I journey in the land of the living.
I believed Your promise; therefore I spoke,
“I am in deep trouble.”
In my confusion I blurted out,
“All people are liars!”
How will I pay back the Eternal
for all His graciousness toward me?
I will raise the cup of deliverance
and call out the name of the Eternal.
I will fulfill the promises I made to Him
here as a witness to all His people.
Precious in the eyes of the Eternal
are the deaths of those who follow after Him.
O Eternal One, You know I am Your servant.
I am Your servant, a child of Your maidservant,devoted to You;
You have cut me loose from the chains of death that bind me.
And I come, eager to offer a sacrifice of gratitude
and call on the name of the Eternal.
I will fulfill the promises I made to Him
here as a witness to all His people
In the courts of the Eternal’s temple,
among the people of God’s city, O Jerusalem.

The conversation continued for a few hours there in Solomon’s porch. Suddenly, the head of the temple police and some members of the Sadducean party interrupted Peter and John.They were annoyed because Peter and John wereenthusiastically teaching that in Jesus, resurrection of the dead is possible—an idea the Sadducees completely rejected.So they arrested Peter, John, and the man who was healed and kept them in jail overnight. But during these few afternoon hours between the man’s miraculous healing and their arrest,Peter and John already had convinced about 5,000 more people to believe their message about Jesus!
The next morning, the Jewish leaders—their officials, elders, and scholars—called a meeting in Jerusalem presided over by Annas (the patriarch of the ruling priestly clan), along with Caiaphas (his son-in-law), John, Alexander, and other members of their clan. They made their prisoners stand in the middle of the assembly and questioned them.
Jewish Leaders: Who gave you the authority to create that spectacle in the temple yesterday?
Peter (filled with the Spirit): Rulers and elders of the people,yesterday a good deed was done. Someone who was sick was healed. If you’re asking us how this happened, I want all of you and all of the people of Israel to know this man standing in front of you—obviously in good health—was healed by the authority of Jesus of Nazareth, the Anointed One. This is the same Jesus whom you crucified and whom God raised from the dead. He is “the stone that you builders rejected who has become the very stone that holds together the entire foundation” on which a new temple is being built.There is no one else who can rescue us, and there is no other name under heaven given to any human by whom we may be rescued.
john 21:1-14 (nlt)
After this, Jesus appeared again to the disciples, this time at the Tiberias Sea (the Sea of Galilee). This is how he did it: Simon Peter, Thomas (nicknamed “Twin”), Nathanael from Cana in Galilee, the brothers Zebedee, and two other disciples were together. Simon Peter announced, “I’m going fishing.”
The rest of them replied, “We’re going with you.” They went out and got in the boat. They caught nothing that night. When the sun came up, Jesus was standing on the beach, but they didn’t recognize him.
Jesus spoke to them: “Good morning! Did you catch anything for breakfast?”
They answered, “No.”
He said, “Throw the net off the right side of the boat and see what happens.”
They did what he said. All of a sudden there were so many fish in it, they weren’t strong enough to pull it in.
Then the disciple Jesus loved said to Peter, “It’s the Master!”
When Simon Peter realized that it was the Master, he threw on some clothes, for he was stripped for work, and dove into the sea. The other disciples came in by boat for they weren’t far from land, a hundred yards or so, pulling along the net full of fish. When they got out of the boat, they saw a fire laid, with fish and bread cooking on it.
Jesus said, “Bring some of the fish you’ve just caught.” Simon Peter joined them and pulled the net to shore—153 big fish! And even with all those fish, the net didn’t rip.
Jesus said, “Breakfast is ready.” Not one of the disciples dared ask, “Who are you?” They knew it was the Master.
Jesus then took the bread and gave it to them. He did the same with the fish. This was now the third time Jesus had shown himself alive to the disciples since being raised from the dead.
